My first ever poem: Popularity stings

POPULARITY STINGS

Listen up
And listen close
You're not my friend
Everyone knows!

I rule this school
my second home
to me you’re nothing
but a gnome

I get all A's
in everything
in math and science
French and gym

Aqua Marine
that is my name
at least the movie
gives me fame!

As if you could
compare to me?!
I am named
after the sea

My clothes brand name
my skin the best
3000 bucks
just for this vest!

Don’t touch my hair!
I'll slap you girl
it's 80 bucks
for every curl

I won first place
as beauty queen
I was declared
the hottest teen

My nails are long
and sparkle bright
they look just like a summer night

At school, right here,
I win at all
I've even made
some people fall

You're fat and ugly
and such a geek
ugh! you've got ketchup
on your cheek!

Your clothes remind me of a mop
the kind they'd use
in a butcher shop

so here at school
I am the best
I work so hard
I never rest

My life's just great!
That is until...
I get back home
from where it's all downhill

My mom
a druggie
is just a mess

My father left
said I'm "too much stress"

At home I'm not at all the best
my mom Is now
under arrest

My mama's gone for so much time
I think of her
as just a slime

So here, at school
My BETTER home
I BEG OF YOU!
LEAVE ME ALONE!!

the attention that I CRAVE

the "I love you's" mom never gave

this popularity's what I need

for a mother's love I did not receive

Oh, how I'm tired of all this jive
I just so wish my real parents were still alive

See, that one August when I was 8
our car was struck
by terrible fate

They placed me in THIS foster home?!
And now I sit
instead of roam

I know I must get over it
I know this acts not wise
I just can't help but heal my wounds
by wearing this disguise

And the lies
The LIES
OH ALL THESE TERRIBLE LIES!!

Maybe one day someone will see
the real me
not the one being all snobby and angry and bossy
acting like a queen bee

just to be able to sleep easy
and its NOT easy...

A little about me

Hello everyone! My name is Diana and this is my site, as you could probably tell :). I am a poet and the purpose of this site is for me to be able to share my poems with you.

First of all, if you don't like poetry, stay here. you may enjoy my poems because I used to think that poems were only stuff like Shakespeare (no offense, if you like Shakespeare) but he really bores me. I thought the only type of poetry was stuff like "shall I compare thee to a summers day?" but there are SO much different types, its just crazy, and mine is totally not like that, actually is a very modern type of poetry.

Second of all, I only started writing poetry in April or may, I have not been writing poems all my life. My parents say it is a natural talent. Okay so I am going to update one of my poems. If you have any questions or comments, please send them to me at [email protected]
